Bang Nam Phueng, besides being one of the floating markets closest to Bangkok center, is also one of the nicest. It is quite touristy, but it is also quite large. One isn't crowed like at many of the other markets.
As is the case with most "local" markets, most of the place is dedicated to food and the eating of it.
The grounds cover a large area of varied terrain. There is even a "kids" area, with different activities designed for them.
Bang Nam Phueng is a great little market that, although quite the tourist attraction, has kept the flavor of a classic "talad nam". The surrounds are quite beautiful.
Bang Nam Pheung is open weekends only.
